Apocalyptic rain and lighting overwhelming downtown Austin on Friday, May 3 didn’t stop Youth Code and HEALTH from drop kicking a packed, grouchy and poncho-clad crowd at the Mohawk. The venue, apparently, doesn’t cancel a show, ever. So, don’t even think about asking.
The terrifying setting provided a fitting backdrop for the acts, both with roots in the L.A. metal scene. The thunderstorm felt like part of the show. As HEALTH tweeted following everything — it was magical.
THANK YOU AUSTIN :: Doing it despite tornado / flash flood warnings / lightning / downpour and what would’ve been a sensible cancellation anywhere else. And on top putting out so much energy. It was magical.— HEALTH (@_HEALTH_) May 4, 2019
