I am a multimedia journalist from Fort Worth who is living in Austin, Texas.
In November of 2015, I began working as a page design and copy editor for GateHouse Media's Center for News & Design in Austin. There I work on a team that designs the sports sections for newspapers including the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and Daytona News-Journal.
In March 2014, I began nearly two years of work at The Graham Leader, the semi-weekly newspaper and daily news service of record for Graham and Young County, Texas.
As the 139-year-old news service's first multimedia journalist, my duties included photography, breaking news, enterprise and feature stories, video production, page layout and community engagement via various social media platforms. The Leader afforded me the opportunity of cover everything from Friday-night football games to a capital murder trial.
From October 2009 to May 2011, I was the photography editor for Tarrant County College's award-winning student newspaper, The Collegian, with a circulation of 10,000 copies weekly. In April of 2011, I was awarded Photojournalist of the Year from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association.
In June of 2011, I began work at the University of Texas — Arlington's award-winning student newspaper, The Shorthorn. In 2013, I was promoted to Presentation Managing Editor and charged with the visual presentation of The Horn's content over its various products.
In January 2014, I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography at UT — Arlington and graduated in May 2014.
My commercial freelance experience ranges from product photography for the Red River Tea Company to editorial photography and reporting for THRWD Magazine, DFW.com and Arlington Today Magazine.
